Frederick County Board of Education ratifies teachers’ contract – WDVM 25

FREDERICK COUNTY, Md. (WDVM) — Frederick County teachers have been working without a contract since the school year began, but now after months of impasse, a contract has been ratified.
The Board of Education unanimously voted to ratify the agreement which includes: 
“It is incumbent upon us to find the solutions that allow us to retain our highly qualified staff that has worked so hard, especially during over the last 18 months,” said Missy Dirks, FCTA President. “We also tried to address recruitment in this time of state and national teacher shortages.”
This new contract will take effect immediately.

MOUNT AIRY, Md. (WDVM) –  A two-month-long investigation lead to the discovery of a prostitution ring and brothel house in Mount Airy on Tuesday according to the Frederick County Sheriff’s Office.
FCSO Narcotics Investigation Section, along with members of FCSO SWAT and Frederick Police Department SWAT conducted a search and seizure warrant at 13134 Old National Pike in Mount Airy on Tuesday around 12:15 p.m.
LEESBURG, Va (WDVM) — One Maryland man is behind bars after the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office, in partnership with the Anne Arundel County Police Department, arrested him Saturday morning in connection to the reported murder of his mother.
LCSO coordinated with the Anne Arundel County Police Department to arrest Andrew beavers. LCSO says the victim was Beavers’ mother.
